Two New Exhibitions for Roula Partheniou














Opening tomorrow evening, January 7 at Truck Contemporary Art in Calgary, the exhibition, Permutations which brings together work by Roula Partheniou and Hyang Cho. The exhibition continues until February 3.
Also opening tomorrow evening at Mercer Union in Toronto, the exhibition, Out of Print, curated by Sarah Robayo Sheridan includes work by Kristan Horton, John Latham, Roula Partheniou, Amy Robinson, Molly Springfield, David Stein and Derek Sullivan. The exhibition continues until February 26.

Positively No Self Loathing, Joy Walker project at TYPE Books









Joy Walker has transformed the window of TYPE Book's Queen Street store by installing a large-scale photograph of a sign that says: "Positively No Self Loathing." In front of the photograph, she's set out a selection of books that were chosen by notable artists and writers whom she invited to contribute to the project. The contributors include: Stephen Andrews, Daniel Brooks, John Brown, Lynn Crosbie, Gary Michael Dault, Sheila Heti, Jeremy Podeswa, R.M. Vaughan and others.

MoMA Acquires Another Bill Burns Edition













The Special Collection Library of the Museum of Modern Art has acquired Bill Burns’ new edition Ikea Guard Tower Plans, Prison Cell Plans and the Songs of Guantanamo Bay. The edition of was produced to benefit Art Metropole in Toronto. This edition joins several of Burns’ editions at MoMA including the special photo and book edition of Dogs and Boats and Airplanes that was published by MKG127 in 2008.

Burns is currently showing several of his editions at Galerie Christophe Daviet-Thery in Paris

MKG127 artists at Nuit Blanche 2010















Several MKG127 artists are participating in Nuit Blanche 2010. Dave Dyment's Day for Night is part of curator Anthony Kiendl's Sound and Vision exhibition in Zone B.
Curator Earl Miller has curated the exhibition Out of Site for the Queen West Business Improvement Area. Included in the exhibition are projects by An Te Liu (rendering shown above), Laura Kikauka and Roula Partheniou.
